Introducing The New Natren.A new online home. The Natren you know.
CALIFORNIA, SINCE 1982

Before the bottle,
there was a culture.

Before Natren, there was a family yogurt business. Natasha and Yordan Trenev carried that knowledge of living cultures into a company of their own in 1982.

FROM A FAMILY BUSINESS

Knowledge,
passed forward.

Natasha Trenev grew up in a family whose work revolved around cultured foods. After moving to California, the family established a yogurt business in Glendale. Living cultures were part of her everyday life long before they became her professional focus.

That experience shaped a lasting interest in how cultures are identified, handled and understood. In 1982, Natasha and her husband, Yordan, founded Natren in California. The company grew around an enduring focus on the cultures themselves and the people who choose them.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRINCIPLE

A life’s work.
A lasting standard.

Natasha brought a family background in cultured foods to a wider purpose: helping people understand probiotics and ask better questions about the products they choose. Her work as a founder, author and educator runs through Natren today.

Her 1998 book, Probiotics: Nature’s Internal Healers, is part of that long commitment to education. Knowing the culture, understanding the formula and caring for the finished product remain central to the Natren approach.
